little about the technique…
Anyone can put on a mask and become facially transformed, but using mask as an acting technique is an intricate skill to master. Forte Theatre has two Mask workshops on offer to tackle this complex art form; An introductory workshop for beginners and a Development workshop for those in need of furthering their skills and knowledge.
Theatrical Mask – either neutral or character – brings an array of challenges from vocal use, physical expression, rules and restrictions, audience interaction and achieving an unconditional belief in the character and story.

The Introductory Workshop focuses on:

The Development Workshop focuses on:

Using advanced-level character masks

Using all of the mask elements to create structured and sophisticated devised work
Resulting with a stronger and more in-depth understanding of the wonders of mask work setting the students on a journey to becoming experienced practitioners.
