A little about the show…

The Forte Theatre team have created a fresh and punchy show that incorporates ‘old & new times of Commedia’, which also suits our young modern audiences. 

Although Commedia was originally very stock, over time, many practitioners & performers created their own theories on the technique and various forms have spread all over the world. So with this in mind, Forte have created a collaboration of ideas and themes to meet all areas of change and discovery.

“Arlecchinos Revenge” uses original plot structures, stock characters, stock relationships, traditional lazzi and a twist of modern satires throughout. This show & workshop package is very suitable for any age range and year group. It can support the drama curriculum or be utilised as a boost of creativity and enthusiasm. 

How it can help your students…

The show will give the students an insight into the true traditions of Commedia Dell'Arte along with modern day twists to keep it engaging and relatable. They will witness some of the key characters and elements used in Commedia, which they will have the option to experience themselves with the combined workshop.

The workshop will enhance the show content and enlighten the students on the 'how' and 'what', with the potential to create their own performances. They will explore the key characters seen in the show and find their own take on the comical Lazzi!

Show & workshop package

The February & March shows for 2013 are sold out. More show dates will be released soon. 

There is no limit on the number of students viewing the 1hr show but we have a limit of 60 students for the workshop as long as we can work in a large space. The workshop length choices are 2hrs or 3hrs and we have a package price available on request. 
 
The show has simple needs since there are no technical requirements. Any sound is performed live and lights are not a necessity. The set is a 6ft x 8ft backdrop which can fit into any drama studio or hall.
